  2. A suggestion instead of using tin foil for a small investment I used reflectix from Lowes for my grow closet. It is not as flimsy and thin as tinfoil and has an insulating factor as well. I also made panels for the front of a shelving unit using grommets for tarps and s-hooks.

  3. This is the first year starting seedlings using worm castings. I now have 16 types of peppers. The are doing great! Now about 6" tall. I mixed half seed starting mix with half worm castings. Awesome results! I will be starting tomatoes soon. Nice video!

  4. Gary how are you Sir, thanks for all information and videos. You really help me out, I love your channel. Will you please make a video on – moles/golfers. Their tearing up my lawn, all around one of my raised beds. In one section of my house grass won't grow, that where I have my main garden(in back of my garage-west side of my property). But I planted a new bed, where the sun shines about 2 to 4 hours more(side of my house-east side). Grass is starting to grow alot, I had wood chips and no grass grew. I removed it, so I could use it as compost. The grass came in right away, and now I have a bunch of holes in the section I mentioned before. I thinking their eating the grass. Don't want them to jump in the my rasied bed , once they eat up all the grass. Please help !

  5. Hi Patrick. I been watching your videos and all very informative i really appreciate what you doing . I learned a lot. But i have a question . Would you ever do how to on hydroponics? It seems getting popular now days and you are very knowledgeable guy it would in interesting additions to your channel thanks

  6. I use those red and blue LED lights. They work really good and are fairly cheap now. I bought a bulb 80watt on eBay a couple years ago and it's still working. They work almost as good as HPS or halide grow lights.

  7. Hey Gary. I noticed you're using all new seed starter trays. I saved mine from last year and thought of using them again. Is there I reason I shouldn't use the old ones? I did have a tiny bit fungus in July and maybe I shouldn't reuse. I saw somewhere on YT you could wash them in vinegar and re-use them. Thank you.

  8. Thanks for sharing! Your previous videos really helped me set up my grow closet. I've successfully transplanted peppers, tomatoes, herbs (tarragon, parsley, sorrel, lavender) and onions. What is the significance of magazine photos you have framed? They look beautiful!

  9. Great video. Can you save seedlings that might have been over fertilized? I’ll be frank, I haven’t been measuring but now I should start. A few fin my tomato seedlings look sad the day after I added liquid feed.

  10. I'm so envious of your grow space Gary! My husband flies RC Jets and has every inch of spare room already taken up including the garage for scratch builds – sigh lol and the basement is my parents summer home. I decided not to totally chance it this first year with peppers and tomatoes and pre-ordered some plugs already and if my seeds do grow then I just have more to dehydrate and freeze. It's still down to setting up on my kitchen table which has the best light in the house anyways.
Love that you are doing the experiments – thanks!

  11. Great video thanks for the update. Recently started a set up with a 4 tube 4'x2' and a couple of mini tubes from the hydro store. Foil is expensive here in the uk, almost equivalent to mylar so going with that. After seeing this I'm a bit worried I've over fertilized my pepper seedlings, although they look ok. Had burnt tips – the dry brown curling burn. added bio bizz with castings 50/50 with seed start mix so must have been that. all good though, plenty of time to start some more.

  12. Great step by step videos on seed starting. You have the exact same setup I do in my closet. I use T5 lights. My peppers are already 2" .Next week I am starting my herbs and tomatoes. Thanks, Gary!
