I tried making some shoes out of a Money Tree and Bamboo. Hoping to spring a lil good luck and prosperity into my step. Finally got finished after 2 weeks of intense work, failure and theoretical processing. Very innovative for me. My shoes died that night from dehydration RIP. A true "What Are Those" (Water Those) moment
I have this Jade plant here in our apartment here in Saudi, my problem is we are going for vacation for about two months and no one here and it is indoor knowing that these country is so very hot, how I can I keep it alive until we come back? Any suggestions please…
Also Jade is the succulent with the round leaves. It's very common in most Store and easy to care for as well. I water mine likely more than if needs but it does still have proper drainage so it's done perfectly fine.
A tip I found recently was that if you gently squeeze the Leave and they feel more firm, then it doesn't "need" ant water. but if you squeeze it and the leaves are squishy, then it's time to water.
Basically judge it like you judge a tomato. If the leaves feel like a fresh firm tomato, then it doesn't need any water then. But if it Feels like a tomato that's, still good, but was possibly dropped or is maybe in need of being eaten since it's going to go bad soon, then it needs more water.
If it's in DIRE need of water and about to die the leaves will wrinkle and start to turn a kind of. Camo/dark forrest green colour. When it gets to that point it's very upset. It can also get like that if it doesn't have proper light or drainage as well though so judge the plants state and reaction, along with how moist the soil actually is as well
For anybody wondering the "money plant" looks like Pothos to me. Pothos, Heart Shaped Pothos, or Devils Ivy are all very, very similar and only have small differences. They're super easy to care for, and can be in direct OR indirect sunlight. In sun the leaves on Devils Ivy will start to get white Spot and the green colour of them will likely lighten. If they're left out of direct sunlight they'll stay a bright vibrant green.
Even if they are different than the plant in the video they look similar enough that they're likely in the same family. They're very easy to care for and they're the type of plant that doesn't stop growing. Repotting as its roots grow will allow it to grow massively.
It's also really easy to propagate because you just cut a bit of the vine off the end. and place it in some water where it can get a slight amount of sun. After awhile when you see roots place it in some dirt and that's that.
Just be warned Pothos is somewhat toxic so keep it away from children and animals. With my Devils ivy if I touch the leaves a lot then touch my lips I can sometimes feel a slight tingle. I HAVE had cats eat some and they were alright, it's been a few years and they're still here. But it's not good for them in the least, So I keep mine in a hanger and strung along my ceiling far out of their reach.
What is the best direction according to the vastu for these plants?
