Miracle Gro pour and feedHas the npk. In a less than 5. It's .02 @ for the npk. No mixing. Now I don't have to do the math for starter plant food when 2 leaves appear. Hope this helps others. Thanks Gary for all your great videos.
You mentioned something about minimum 40 degrees for germination. I want to start my seeds in my garage and I am hovering right around 40 the whole time. Do you thing that will work, or does it need more warmth? I know the LED's don't give off much heat. Great video, thank you.
The only time you really have to worry about Organic seeds is if you are growing and selling organic produce because of Federal Regulations. As long as you use organic methods to grow your seed, you are still getting organic produce. 9 times out of 10 treated seeds are imported seeds. But from what I've found, I've seen a lot of treated corn seeds.
i've been following your channel for about 3 years now and I am a big fan of the new format… the digital table of contents also makes it easier to search a topic and then once you find the video you can go directly to the information… i'm in the northern Virginia area and have found your videos to be so helpful as the timing of a video provides a great reminder because of what region you are in as well. thank you and I look forward to the next episode in the series
Gary, I have been watching your videos for a month and like others love your no nonsense, succinct, well communicated teaching. Thanks for doing what you do!
Thanks for the tips, Gary. I assume you used seed starting mix in the containers as well. The humidity dome works well for germinating some seeds, in my experience; but there is a definite time to remove it. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos.. I have some critiques, but you are out there 'doing it' and providing some really practical advice to people. I will subscribe.
Thank you for this video! I've been sharing your content to a friend who is brand new to gardening at all. This is perfect. I have, in the past, baked my seed starting mix. I got me a huge roasting pan, premoistened the mix and baked on 400 for an hour. Worked great. P.S. I gotta get me one of those shirts 🙂
Thanks Gary! I just started a flat of 72 hex cells of herbs and cool weather crops. I also just bought the T shirt and your cold pressed neem oil with the mescaline mix! Thanks for all the info!
Good job Gary. So glad you brought up the issue on fungus gnats and especially watering from the bottom. I have known many people that have tried starting seeds and when they got those pesky little critters, it discouraged them from gardening at all. Blessings, Jim
Are you now recommending these LED lights over the T8 setups? I put together a T8 setup literally the day before your LED light video came out, in part because I couldn't find reasonably priced LEDs. Even with two fixtures per shelf, each containing two 2900 lumen tubes, the light looks surprisingly dim.
If I can get away with one fixture per shelf instead of two, I'd be willing to restart with the LEDs provided the color temperature of these is still ideal.
In the hobby of gardening I find it sometimes really hard to come across rational, scientific advice, so the first few minutes of this video was fantastic. Thank you for uploading!

All non-organic seeds in the U.S are treated with fungicide.
Thanks Gary for teaching us ! Really we appreciate it!

Do you turn the grow lights off at night or keep them under lights continuously?

Can I start seeds outside on a covered porch instead of inside with lights? I’m south Texas so it isn’t cold
enjoyed your video
