I grow the tried and true varieties that always work for me, then add a few new, fun things each year 😉 I've been gardening for 8 years and there is always something new to learn! I got burned last year and didn't start anything from seed so I had to settle for transplants and didn't find any varieties I usually grow 🙁
I go through Seed catalogs too and also look on the different seed websites like MIgardener. I do pretty much the same process as you. It works pretty well for me. I’ve only been gardening seriously for the last couple years so I’m still pretty new. I used to just buy plant starts and sometimes seeds and stick them in the ground without doing any research whatsoever and nothing ever did well at all.
I WANT EVERYTHING !!!!! Actually I tend to try two new veggies per year over and above what I usually grow. So this year it will be purple sweet potatoes & bush beans.
Are you planning to have a garden this year? How do you decide what to grow?

I'll go through my seed brochures to and then check around to see who is selling for the cheapest per seed price.
