  1. hi, I live in ga and was all set to measure and build a raised bed using cinder blocks. started researching online for plans and ran across a ton of comments about chemicals leaching out of the blocks and into the food. what do you think?

  2. Very nice set up there. It looks like a professional business like some green house businesses. Just wondered if you sell at the farmers market and wanted to say i bet that it is just beautiful in the summer time when everything is all green and up. You did a great job and it looks like you work very hard on this project. Thanks for sharing and G-d bless.

  3. Wow!!  I really like your gardens! I am really excited to set some beds up myself and seeing your garden is inspiring. I'm going to browse your videos – hoping to find the ones on set up. Angie, Mark's wife.

  4. I guess it's not bragging if you did it. That is an awesome setup you have there. Not only is it productive, but it also has good eye appeal. I'm working on it, just haven't gotten to this level…yet

  5. Jon,
Do u have to put your blocks on a concrete footing?,will they move other wise?Is it hard to cement the blocks together? Can a lay person do both , using simple tools/equipment.A comment was made that one needs to plant plant varieties that are tolerant of alkaline soil because chemicals from concrete foundations can turn acid loving plants yellow.Choose plants that require a low PH.Do you do that?Has it mattered to u what type of plant u plant?

  6. Hi Elaine,
It has been absolutely wonderful, eventually I will make all of my beds this way, they are sooooooooo fantastic, ground beds can be skittish, not so with these 2' tall beds, they are always very consistent… God Bless You as you go forward with your garden…

  7. We are moving, a little at a time, in this direction for planting. I like the surrounding fence and the gravel underfoot; I want to use blocks like you did…we currently have some raised beds made out of wood. God bless you; thanks for sharing with us.

  8. As someone from the Walla Walla area, I loved your use and how you planted the Walla Walla Sweet Onions, which are the best sandwich onions in the world. I also like your use of the concrete blocks and have inspired me for maybe a fall project this year.

  9. I'm not sure what you are asking, but I will try and answer what I think you are asking !!!!
Once they are built, you simply top them off each year with fresh compost and cow manure, and let the worms eat, poop and aerate the soil…no till 😉
It simply can not get any easier 😉

  10. this is great…however i am just curious about the benefit…my back is day to day so it would be great for me but how do you get it ready the next year? i think you are on to something just wondered about the details…thanks and God bless!
